Go Phish!

I received an interesting eBay email -- but it wasn't from eBay.  It's a good example of an attempted identity theft that failed.  The article takes the message apart and shows you why it's bogus, then it tells you what you can do if you encounter such nastygrams.  Read the article here.

Introducing Personal Software Process™ - a Few (Un)Expected Lessons

Originally presented at the International Conference on Software management and Applications of Software Measurement, March, 2000(click to download the PDF file)

Dynamic Software Tracking (click to download the PDF file)

This was originally presented at BOSCON 2004

There are four things you need to know to keep a software project "on the rails".

  1. What is the goal?
  2. How good is the software?
  3. How healthy is the development team?
  4. How much time and work is left?

Any worthwhile methods for software quality will help you to answer these questions, but even the most time-tested quality tool can be defeated by organizational pressures, human error, inappropriate interpretation or gamesmanship.

In addition, the straightforward application of a quality tool or development methodology must not overlook the judgement required to use it effectively.
